Sometimes I find myself looking around my home and wondering what I would have done without Nevada Hardest Hit Fund. Funny how almost losing something makes you appreciate it all the more.
I have always been someone who prides themselves in paying bills on time; and I never had trouble getting or keeping a job. That is until 2010 when, after working for a company for almost 5 years, I was given notice that I was no longer needed, and suddenly I was among the growing statistic of the unemployed in Las Vegas.
For the first few months, I was convinced I would find another job right away, but after applying for dozens of jobs and having numerous hopeful interviews, I found myself still unemployed after 2 and a half years. It was a scary day when I had to face the fact that I could no longer make my mortgage payments. I tried to work something out with my servicer, but each time it looked like there was a solution, something came up that disqualified me; or I was told more documentation was needed before they could give me a decision. I gave up hope and figured I’d just wait for the foreclosure notice.
But then my hope was restored! It was during a meeting at the unemployment office that I learned about Nevada Hardest Hit Fund. I applied for the Mortgage Assistance Program and received help making my payments. During that time, I was fortunate to find a good job, but I was still $14,000 behind on my payments. I applied for, and received, the Reinstatement assistance, bringing my mortgage current for the first time in almost 3 years! I can’t tell you how great it feels to call my servicer and hear the recording say, “Your last payment in the amount of $14,792.97 was received on . . . !!!” Thank you, thank you, thank you!
There have only been a few folks in my 71 years that I have not only talked to who I thought was the real deal kind of person and you are right at the top of the list and believe me, I spent many years working the phones and listening to many people that try, I mean really try to help a customer and there are some good ones out there, but of all the folks I have done business with you went beyond just helping someone; you were much more especially to myself and wife than anyone I can remember, thank you. With my health issues I want to make sure my wife is just fine after I am no longer around and my FICO score and hers especially I built it for her and when this problem came up, well you gave me faith back in people for the most part, I can’t thank you enough you are #1 in my book.
I am so relieved all went well. I love where I live even more, especially now! I’m no longer under water. Keep up the good work. Aloha!
Nevada Hardest Hit Fund People,
We thank you so very much for all the help. God bless you all.
Dear Team of NAHAC,
We’d like to say thank you to the entire staff for all your effort to assist us. Through your efforts, you’ve inspired Bank of America to reduce our interest rate on our first mortgage, giving us some much needed breathing room.
I can’t describe my gratitude for your empathy, patience, and hard work.
Thanks for all your help, very professional, very efficient.
You helped a life today . . . By far the best customer service I’ve ever received. Thank you so much for listening to my story and getting my application for mortgage reduction actually accepted. When you called me to say I was approved for the reduction, I was ecstatic. I have a beautiful daughter; she has always been hesitant to ask me for money. She knows I have a limited income and would never ask for anything unless it was an emergency. She’s just starting her life. I’m sure she’d like to go to college or a trade school. This reduction will give me the opportunity to help my child.
So . . . You, have touched more than my life . . . you’ve touched my daughter’s life indirectly. Be proud of what you do to help a total stranger. God bless you and thank you.
